Florida has recorded a death in MRSA (methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus) as a result of failure to diagnose and treat the MRSA promptly. Apparently, a wrongful death lawsuit( http://www.foranlaw.com/resources/maryland-injury-lawyer/death-cases.html ) has been filed over the death of the man. MRSA is an infection caused by the above referenced bacteria. This strain of bacteria is resistant to many of the typical medicines used to treat this condition. Typically most staph infections start as red bumps that can quickly turn into life threatening infections. The leading causes of the antibiotic resistance includes the unnecessary use antibiotics, germ mutation, the age of the person that gets infected, body contact sports, sharing towels or athletic equipment and working in a health care facility. Physicians will diagnose MRSA by taking a sample of the infected area and allow the sample to grow in a culture. If MRSA is detected, the physician will likely start antibiotics and drain the abscess. It is imperative that the infection get treated as soon as possible.
